Brainy-looking Lion's Mane mushrooms have been used by traditional Asian doctors for thousands of years to treat digestive issues, diabetes, depression, attention deficit disorder, brain fog, and anxiety.  The compounds in this mushroom have been demonstrated to contribute to the synthesis of Nerve Growth Factor and help with the repair and construction of nerve cells.  This mushroom is also well-documented for its anti-oxidant and anti-inflammatory capacities.  Additionally, Lion's Mane is a choice edible mushroom and is considered a gourmet food across the globe.

All of our Lion's Mane mushrooms are grown at our Myco Medicines farm in Lenoir City, Tennessee in the foothills of the Great Smoky Mountains.  We cultivate our Lion's Mane mushrooms outdoors on maple and oak stump totems as well as indoors on all-naturally supplemented sawdust substrates.

What is a Pyroleum?

A pyroleum is the residual and highly concentrated oil that has been purified of solvents leaving only the essential substances extracted.  Myco Medicine's pure Lion's Mane pyroleum is "rehydrated" with organic Medium-Chain Triglyceride (MCT) coconut oil which supercharges its bioavailability.

Our pyroleum has been processed specifically to include the Hericenone and Erinacine compounds that result from extracting the fruiting body and mycelium of the Lion's Mane mushroom, which enhances its nervous system-boosting effects.

Our Lion's Mane pyroleum is also mildly and naturally flavored with cinnamon so that it tastes lighter and more palatable than most mushroom supplement products.

Potential Qualities:

Lion's Mane is widely considered a nootropic. This is fancy way of saying it supports and promotes healthy cognitive function. This is important for all developmental stages of life, but especially relevant to the aging population.

Just imagine being able to stay focused throughout an entire sermon, class lecture, or board meeting, without pharmaceuticals.

Each individual type of medicinal mushroom contains a unique blend of phytonutrients, antioxidants, polysaccharides, compounds and other enzymes that have different effects across the entire body. Amazingly, one of the real healing powers of medicinal mushrooms comes from a specific polysaccharide called beta-glucan.(1)

Scientists in the pharmaceutical industry are now being extremely attentive  to beta-glucan's in research because they have an unusual effect on our immune systems:

Instead of stimulating or suppressing immune function, beta-glucans effectively balance it.

In Lion's Mane , some Hericium constituents act as immunomodulators which are effective for supporting many conditions where immunity is compromised or suppressed in some way. These unique balancing activities have been indicated in instances of an under-active immune systems (when fighting  a cold), overactive immune function (autoimmune diseases), and carcinogenesis (in the growth of tumors).  (3)

The Hericenone and erinacine constituents specific to Lion’s Mane have been shown to contribute to the synthesis of Nerve Growth Factor, which assists in the repair of damaged nerve cells, and overall brain health.  (4)    Cognitive support is vital to long term health and our Lion's Mane is an effective solution.

Most academic research papers on Lion's Mane mushrooms are a pretty dull read, but the research conclusions themselves can be very exciting.  For example, there is promising research being done using Lion's Mane to treat and manage Parkinson's disease and dementia specifically. There is plenty of great research to explore, but adding Lion's Mane mushrooms into your life in some capacity seems like a good idea, to say the least.

Use Suggestions:

People who use Lion's Mane as a supplement don’t usually feel the full effects right away. Since Lion’s Mane is a natural product, it takes time for the effects to come on and the nerve cells in the brain to be benefited.

Some websites suggests a minimum of 45 day of continuous use to feel the desired effects, but many people also report that the effects wore off after they stopped taking Lion's Mane.

For a healthy adult, we recommend starting with 1-3 full droppers, two times per day.

This can be increased or decreased depending on your comfort level and desired effects. To our knowledge, there is no know toxicity level, and our products won't kill you, even if you drink the entire bottle.

What do we do?

We take it multiple times a day, everyday, and we don't plan to change that. Reach out to us with more questions!

WoW! This is one of the only mushroom products I’ve tried that actually tastes good. I’m not a giant cinnamon fan but at least it doesn’t take like fungus or mushroom juice or something.

I noticed after taking this product for about three weeks that I felt an overall boost in my attention and mindfulness during the day while working. Also, minor tasks that I would often set aside during my workday I found myself very motivated to tackle quickly. My typical procrastination habits seemed to be seriously impacted by this product, for some odd reason. I guess its just making my brain work better! Thanks!

I’ve taken lion’s mane for several months and find that it gives me a nice, subtle mental “lift”. I’m in a positive frame of mind when using it which helps me focus on the things I want to do get done without making me feel hyper or jittery. Meditation seems to be a little more focused when I’m taking it, too. I always look forward to taking that dropper! 🙂
